| The International Sailing Federation is the official voice of sailing. The ISAF has this to say about the organization, "The International Sailing Federation (as it is now called) is officially recognised by the International Olympic Committee as the governing authority for sailing world-wide. As such, the ISAF is responsible for promotion of the sport internationally, managing sailing at the Olympic Games, developing the International Yacht Racing Rules and Regulations for all sailing competitions and the training of judges, umpires and other administrators, the development of the sport around the world, as well as representing sailors in all matters concerning the sport." |

| The Rolex Middle Sea Race is a highly rated offshore classic, often mentioned in the same breath as the Rolex Fastnet, The Rolex Sydney - Hobart and Newport-Bermuda as a "must do" race. The Royal Malta Yacht Club and the Royal Ocean Racing Club co-founded the race in 1968 and 2003 will be the 24th Edition. Save for a break between 1984 and 1995 the event has been run annually attracting 25 -30 yachts. |
